This small space has a dominant sculpted landscape, utilising the
vertical aspect by sloping the stand from the back towards the front
and utilising the walls as vertical planting space. The layout can
be appreciated as a viewing garden by the public, but is also functional
garden space.
The strong lines of the path lead the eye around the stand, while
the curved walls follow the same arcs created by the sculpted grassland
mound and pathway.
Repetition of shapes, elements and textural elements create rhythm
, while bold use of colour and texture in the hard landscaping and
softer tones and textures in the planting create a balance.
Various interesting textures and unexpected items used out of the
usual context abound in the design, but the bold scale and shape of
the leaf sculpture leads the eye back to the main focal point towards
the centre of the stand. |
